| Notes: | Official UK Import (2000) HSV GTS No 008 V8 HSV's story... I bought the car back in 2003 from its previous owner who had kept it in standard trim, spent a year happy with the car & it's performance until I was humbled by an AMG supercharged Mercedes at Bruntingthorpe, then came the re-mortgage and months if not years of modifications, so if you add £50k+ to the £20k purchase price I am now without funds but have a car that will perform with the best of them. The LS1 engine now boasts the addition of LS6 heads (GTS-R spec), Vortec V2 supercharger combined with a 5-row intercooler, CAPA Camshaft, 1:8 roller rockers, forged pistons & con rods with a reduced compression ratio of 8:1 running 9 pounds of boosted induction producing 575 BHP, engine now set to run with 12 psi which will produce over 600 brake but happy to run it in a milder state of tune for rugged reliability over pure performance. Larger injectors, 80mm throttle body, 2-bar MAP sensor. The fuel system now has a secondary racing fuel pump (Bosch M/Sport surge tank) to cope with the increased demand for fuel. 4:1 large bore headers with a full Wortec 'kiss' pipe system minus the catalysts. Brakes have been upgraded to AP Racing 6-pot front & 4-pot rear callipers with Monaro VXR 19" rims shod with 245/35/19 tyres. Suspension has now been carefully set for fast road & track with complete coil over suspension featuring height adjustable dampers from Starr Performance together with their Super Flex polyurethane suspension bushes. The rear diff has had the addition of a Harrop Enduro differential cover which increases the volume of oil present to add to its cooling and reducing axle tramp. The T56 gearbox has now been mated to a quick shift system that decreased the 'throw' of the standard lever and aids quicker changes via an 800 BHP 4-paddle racing clutch. Other mods include titanium heat reflecting window tints, Nokia phone installation, RAC Traclstar GPS security with SatCom link to RAC HQ, Clifford 600 security, hidden front & rear reversing sensors, Road Angel II. Front headlamp stobes, green neon under body tubes. Kenwood full 5.1 AV In Car Entertainment system featuring dedicated SatNav, 3 DVD players, 3 x 7" colour screens, TV set up, 1000 watts power coupled with 250 watt active middle speakers and 250 watt active sub bass unit. Wireless RF headphones for independent use by rear seat passengers. 12 volt power increased by adding a truck & marine battery trickle fed by primary battery delivery a combined 250 amp hour capacity. Early in 2009 saw it re-fettled by Monkfish who did a lot of work (£10k) that included new piston, fuel management, leads, dump valves, LS7 clutch, welding, replacement ducting/tubing to bring it back to life resulting in a "quick car" as muted by Wortec who did the remap. In addition had new AP discs fitted to the front. Winner of 'Hottest Other' category at Hot Import Nights at Earls Court 2004 0-60 MPH in 4.11 seconds 0-100 MPH in 8.07 seconds 297 BHP per Ton ¼ mile in 12.15 seconds, Terminal speed of 122.67 |
