and me shortly! got my 243 heads just waiting for a nice cam!
What are you looking at presently?
not sure havent started looking yet, i want the mildest cam but with the best performance if you can have a balance, i do 10k+ miles a year so reliablity and driveabiltiy is a key factor.

any recommendations rich?
Yeah duration determines rpm range to an extent the ramp of the curve. Overlap shapes the curve, lift raises the curve. Or there abouts anyway.
So you want good lift, duration to suit stock-ish range and little overlap so you can meet emissions etc.
Probably similar to Rogers new MF cam. Personally Id run something like the LSr 219/227-113
But a 220/224-114 might be a little nicer. Somewhere around those numbers anyway I recon.

Maybe see if you can take a drive of a few to see which size cam feels best.

Having driven about 3 FI cars I was quite shocked about how badly they performed. Nowhere near as sprightly as the NA setups Ive had.

Gladly give you a go in mine one day

Hopefully it'll last a lot longer than that.

All your base are belong to us..... shoot

I think I've mentioned it, but I'm running an EPS (Engine Performance Systems) Endurance cam, that is easier on the valvetrain & requires less frequest valve spring changes. Specs are:

222/230 .597/.600 on a 114 + 4 LSA

I asked Patrick G if I wanted to go a little bigger, but not loose driveability he said that I might want to switch to a LSL lobe (higher ramp rate), and the specs would be:

227/231 .614/.617 on a 114 + 4 LSA

I was hoping for specs more like:

228/236 .614/.617 on a 114 + 4 LSA

Another option that this guy John Williams aka Devilish34 uses is a:

223/231 .610/.617 on a 114 LSA and he runs high 11 1/4 miles with drag radials.......

That looks almost like an off the shelf comp LSR cam
Given everyone has excellent results in with L92 heads and the comp 224/230 cam the lsr one with better lobes looked a good idea.
I actually had that cam but sold it to a guy up north. I have one of their 219/227's basically the next size down too.

I forget what kinda lobe that 223/231 cam is on.

You are definitely right on about the 224/230 cam, why type of overall valve lift specs are the people that have the cam using? .600/.600 or higher?

Livernois has had great success with their stage 1 224/230 cam, but I would want a little more lift than their .581/.590 they have speced out.......

I really want to "step up" a little & go with a slighter bigger cam.

Do you have any reccomendations for me if I'm currently using a 222/230 .597/.600 on a 114 + 4 LSA?

I'd be interested in hearing your advice.....
