IMO that's strong money for a stock cv8. Though you will get any dealer 'facilities' rolled up with it if that's important.

For that budget I'd be holding out for an 04 VXR or even pushing a tiny bit more and going for an 05+ VXR.

Or knock him down on price.

laugh

Nice car though, good luck.

+1 .. is a bit pricy yes and no mods
would be better abd cheaper in the long run to get one with
exhuast and brakes done (5k) worth of mods

Hi There,

Well my thinking was that with this kind of mileage any problems will have potentially already been sorted, had a sneeky look tonight after it closed and my initial feeling is that it looks like a nice example but going for proper look on Sunday so if i think it has potential i will discuss the price etc :-)

Cheers,
BigG.....

Yep, looks a bit pricey. After you buy you will spend a FEW grand on enhancements !!

Find one with some stuff added onto it !!

This! Having had the 5.7 (great car) the 6.0 is light years ahead and with the ap's and wortec you have all the car you will ever want for a few grand more.

Unless you need a big boot, the 6.0 is the one to go for.

The only problems the cars have are teh gearboxes. Time wont tell on that score but the 5.7 box if it does a high speed 5th/6th change they can have problems, they all can have problems. 11k is 3k too much for a stock cv8 but ignore us internet gobstes the main thing is if its the car you want and you like it go for it (but get a 6.0 for your own sake!)

Nice car mate. I bought a very similar car a few years back. Stock and standard. Had it at The Fish within a couple of months getting mods done! Anyway, let us know how you get on.

That price seems about right for a late model VZ CV8 from a dealer, considering early 2004 VY series IIs are going for 8-9k. The VZs are a big improvement over the previous model, with more power, bigger brakes and a true dual exhaust system to name but a few changes. But hey, its a Monaro, which in Aboriginal means 'Goes like the ing clappers'

It appears identical to mine mate, we could do with a few more black CV8s up north!

Hi Guys/Gals,

Hope everyone is well,

The thing is i actually prefer the smooth lines of the CV8 without spoiler etc to the VXR model which why i was looking at them, i think it is a little over priced but not as much as some of you have suggested, will have a look tomorrow anyway and see how it looks and maybe have a barter on price/warranty if i decide to go for it!!

Cheers,
BigG.....

This would be far better,

www.pistonheads.com/sales/1915939.

Beg borrow, steal for the extra cash as it will feel twice as fast and has less mileage.

Best of all you can call Monkfish to talk about the car as I am sure the mods are recent.

If not good luck with your choice.
